Winner of the Hugo Award for Best Series!

The interwoven destinies of the people of Meridian will finally be determined in this “stunning, fevered conclusion” (NPR) to New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Roanhorse’s Between Earth and Sky trilogy.

Even the sea cannot stay calm before the storm. —Teek saying

Serapio, avatar of the Crow God Reborn and the newly crowned Carrion King, rules Tova. But his enemies gather both on distant shores and within his own city as the matrons of the clans scheme to destroy him. And deep in the alleys of the Maw, a new prophecy is whispered, this one from the Coyote God. It promises Serapio certain doom if its terrible dictates are not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Xiala is thrust back amongst her people as war comes first to the island of Teek. With their way of life and their magic under threat, she is their last best hope. But the sea won’t talk to her the way it used to, and doubts riddle her mind. She will have to sacrifice the things that matter most to unleash her powers and become the queen they were promised.

And in the far northern wastelands, Naranpa, avatar of the Sun God, seeks a way to save Tova from the visions of fire that engulf her dreams. But another presence has begun stalking her nightmares, and the Jaquar God is on the hunt.

Nominated for the Nebula, Lambda, Locus, and Hugo Awards, winner of the Alex Award from the American Library Association and the Ignyte Award from Fiyah magazine, the Between the Earth and Sky trilogy is amongst our most lauded modern fantasy series from The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and USA TODAY bestselling author Rebecca Roanhorse.

Critic reviews

"Shaun Taylor–Corbett skillfully portrays Serapio as he navigates prophecies and plots against him. Nicole Lewis voices Xiala, the Teek sea captain whose determination and desperation are palpable as she protects her island home. Naranpa, an avatar of the Sun God, portrayed by Cara Gee, is exploring the dreaming world with dangerous consequences. Christian Barillas brings drama to the character of Lord Balam, who wields deadly shadow magic in his quest for power. The narrators’ skilled performances slowly reveal the many entangled storylines as gods and humans fight for control."

I love her style of writing, world building, and character development. As an author she is one of the best there right now. But for this book, unfairly to the book. it just felt like she had developed too many characters and tossed aside my favorite pairing which left me wanting more and not particularly enjoying the book throughout.

Honestly probably an unfair review.

Once again, of course, back in the Camp Circle listening to the story reveal the 3rd part of Between Earth and Sky, and journey back to a time we can now, All Remember. Thank You

One of the best trilogies I’ve read in a long time. Plot and character development were outstanding. Could have actually done without the last chapter, but it didn’t diminish anything. Will seek out more from this author.

Fantastic trilogy

It’s so easy for characters to be left out or become fodder in a story to serve the plot but I cared about every single character here there was no evil there was misstep there was hurt there was so many people trying to do the right thing ! Oh wait I did kinda hate Chaya bc of okoa though , actually okoa was a victim but of fate not of the plot

Every character became important to me
