Monster Hunter International may have had its roots in the United States of America, but there are plenty of monsters in the big old world. And wherever there are monsters, humans will need monster hunters. Here then, stories of the things that go bump in the night and the men and women who bump back—focusing on the myths, legends, and folklore of Czechia, by Czech authors. Includes a new short story by Larry Correia.

narrative flat. this narrator didn't do this title justice. I found my mind wandering quite a lot during this book. I'm not sure why they didn't have Oliver Wyman read this title as all the other Monster Hunter titles. This narrator had mw trying to figure out if he was giving perceptions or reading as a character. it was confusing.

monotonous

I really enjoyed this story collection a lot. I knew from the description that Mr Correa wasn't the main author and just provided one short story and some editing. I lowered my expectations a little due to this. My expectations were blown away. The stories are all good in their own right. I hope others can enjoy them ad I did.

however. yes that sneaks in. These stories don't have the same kind of flow that the main stories have had. I often wondered if these writers had read about this MHI universe for more than a few sentences. some seemed as if they were tweaked a little from general settings to fit in MHI land.
so, I enjoyed these. Just would have enjoyed more if they were a better fit.

Great but

The biggest struggle for me had to be the translation to English. American slang/vernacular doesn't translate well if at all to "old" languages so to speak.

Mediocre at best, a struggle though.

was a great set of stories from another part of the world showing that people other than those from MHI take care of the monster problem also. Really enjoyed listening to this audio book!

Great stories

A decent mix of short stories from the MHI world, all from the perspective of Eastern European hunters, and with the help of Eastern European authors.

Unfortunately, the narrator does not even attempt an accent. He barely lightens his voice for the female characters, and does little to differentiate all the other voices. It gets confusing when every character sounds like the same forty something American guy.

A good narrator should have a distinct voice for each character; it helps the listener visualize the story.
Mr. Thorne needs to take some time and learn from the greats like Jim Dale, Sean Runnette, and RC Bray. He needs to become a voice actor and not just a guy who can read in front of a microphone.

Decent short stories but the narrator ruined them.
