I've spent the better part of a decade trying to save the world.

Twice a century, Mount Slate threatens to erupt, and for my entire life, the four families in charge haven't seemed to care about their impending doom.

So it fell to me to try to fix things. To make peace.

Me, a man whose greatest skill is pissing people off so much that they challenge me to a duel, and then killing them in that duel.

Now the moment is here, and my clever stone is telling me that one man—a sweet, innocent, infuriating judgmental bastard—is the only one who's capable of saving the world. And I have to help him do it.

I'm starting to wonder if the world is even worth saving.

Moonstriker is the last in a series of four books, starring one cynical not-quite-assassin, one ray of sunshine, and one very grumpy mountain. It features both Aubrey and Kit's HEA, as well as the conclusion of the overall series arc.

Moonstriker pulls the Summertide Chronicles to a breathtaking close; Mount Slate’s eruption, long-held secrets, and the final reckoning all converge in ways that feel both inevitable and surprising. Kit and Aubrey’s relationship moves from guarded misunderstandings to deeply mutual respect, the character discovery is just long enough to see that they have to work on things but not arduous to read knowing each other are actually working toward the same goal. Their flaws and pride giving weight to their eventual surrender to affection. The return of cameo characters feature prevalently and adds emotional richness, making the ending feel like it’s not just about two people but a found family across the four realms. It’s an excellent finale—stone-bonded, storm-rattled, and emotionally satisfying down to the last word.

I loved this series and this book was the perfect ending! Kit and Audrey are different but similar in some ways. They are definitely perfect for each other. I’m glad the plan was a success! I’ll definitely re-read this series. The narration was wonderful.

Loved this book & series!

The narrator for Aubrey spoke too slowly sometimes and it felt distracting but this story tied the whole series together very well. Kit being the through line of the whole series and Aubrey from the start and the end was great. there were a few very satisfying payoffs from the whole series as well. I wouldn't start with this book certainly but start at the beginning. I think you'll like it.

Good finale

I really enjoyed this series. The world building wasn’t too heavy so I could enjoy the story and plot without too much explanation. I loved the narrators, their voices aren’t really that similar but they worked well together. Highly recommend…

Kit is a Moonstriker, he left their land young to become a duelist. Aubrey is a Duskbringer (Gloombringer). They meet when all the heads of the 4 lands in Summerland met to help soothe/control Slate the volcanic Mountain. What no one knows is that Kit has been preparing for it and knows that for everyone in Summerland us to survive is for Aubrey to bond with Slate. Aubrey and Kit have an interesting start but they fall in love fairly quickly. Other secrets etc are revealed too.

I loved this story, the narrators did an wonderful job
