Friendship, love, and forgiveness...

The Maxwells and the Popes have been friends forever. The women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and the two families share both vacations and holidays.

Like Wisteria Lane, the "perfect" suburban street of Desperate Housewives, all is beautiful and serene -- until an accident forces these close neighbors to look beneath the surface. And when their idyllic lives are unexpectedly shattered by a moment that can never be erased or forgotten, their faith in one another -- and in themselves -- is put to the supreme test.

In this moving, unforgettable story, Barbara Delinsky exquisitely captures the depth and complexity of the human heart as few writers can.

This was a great story and I will not hesitate to purchase other audio books from this author. The narration was well done and I liked how the male voices sounded masculine and the women's voices didn't all sound the same. What bothered me though was that you could hear the narrator swallowing almost after every sentence or pause and it even sounded at times like she had a candy in her mouth. If you are grossed out by other peoples spit (sorry for the rude word!) you may want to either skip this one or listen to it through speakers - the sounds may have been more noticeable since I listened to it with my itouch.

great story!

Wonderful story about family, friends, mistakes, love and forgiveness.
Frustrating and unbelievable fail as Narrator... eating, drinking and noisy movements and breathing can be heard through the entire book. If the story would not have been so engaging and true to real life I would have stopped listening and returned it. I will not purchase another with this Narrator.

Great Story-Horrible Narrator

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I was not able to get through the entire book listening to it without being disgusted because of the gross habits of the narrator.

Several times during the narration she would make chewing noises while speaking and inbetween words and once in chapter 17 I believe she made a low burp. I find it disgusting to be listening to a book through headphones and have someone burping and chewing in my ear.

As much as I was interested in the story and believed it was a great story I was disgusted by the added noises. I let others listen and they came to the same conclusion that it was chewing and a low burp. Seriously the chewing was consistent and through out the chapters from middle to end. How was this missed during editing?

I recommend not buying the audible version.

I DO Recommend Buying the book and reading it cause it was an awesome story. It related to the every day trials some families face.

What did you like best about this story?

The story plot and follow through was awesome. It was realistic and what families have faced many times.

Would you be willing to try another one of Barbara Rosenblat’s performances?

Not an audiobook from her. The chewing and burp was disgusting.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

The romance was perfect in the story but a narrator with manners would have made it better

Any additional comments?

Authors: double check your editing and listen carefully because it sounded like no one at all listened to this before it was published on audible cause anyone would have caught this.

If refunds were possible I would have demanded one by chapter nine.

Awesome Story but Read Don't Listen

She has a way of capturing real life in her books. This one shows how real life can fall apart and be put back together good as new.

I love Barbara Delinsky's books!

Yuck on the narration. Infidelity itself is bad enough without this scenario. The ending doesn't seem likely.

Uncomfortable
