The biggest wedding festival Maplewood has ever seen is about to bloom…But someone won't live to see the bouquet toss.

Florist Lila Jennings is up to her elbows in roses, ribbon, and runaway nerves as the town's Wedding in Blooms Festival kicks off: lace-draped tents, celebrity wedding planner Janine Frost calling the shots, and hundreds of eager brides-to-be filling Main Street.

Then the screams start. Janine collapses at the cake table, and suddenly the festival's dream date turns deadly. With the police scrambling and half the vendors harboring grudges against the sharp-tongued planner, suspicion blooms fast.

Armed with her gossip-loving best friend Lucy, steady-eyed pet shop owner Ethan, and her two furry "assistants"—mischievous cat Clementine and slobbery bulldog Tank, Lila finds herself diving headfirst into a web of secrets, jealous rivals, buried feuds, and dangerously misplaced allergens. Everyone wanted Janine knocked down a peg, but who wanted her dead?

From stolen floral deliveries and shredded vendor lists to anonymous threats and suspicious "accidents," every clue brings Lila closer to a killer hiding in plain sight… and closer to danger herself. Because when secrets start with "I do," they don't always end with happily ever after.

If you love:

  • Cozy sleuths with charming pets,
  • Wedding drama and small-town rivalries,
  • Amateur detectives and nosy best friends

…you'll adore this warm-hearted whodunit filled with humor, heart, and just the right dash of danger.

Curl up with Murder at the Bridal Bloom today — where every wedding treat hides a secret.

Well when you put two things that I like most, weddings and murder mystery together - well lets just say I couldn't stop listening to this book. Each page felt like it provided an additional clue and I was way off on who actually committed the murder at the end.

Felt like settling into a small town where everyone knows everyone, and something is always just a little off. The mix of wedding chaos, gossip, and mystery kept things light but still interesting enough to stay hooked. What stood out most was the atmosphere. Between the festival setting, the quirky characters, and even the pets, it had that comforting cozy vibe while still building curiosity around what actually happened. It didn’t feel heavy or dark, just enough tension to keep things moving. The narration added a lot to that charm too, easy to follow, expressive without overdoing it, and it brought the personalities to life in a natural way.

I started Murder at the Bridal Bloom mid-flight somewhere between New York and Denver, and it turned out to be the perfect travel companion. There’s something oddly soothing about listening to small-town chaos unfold while glancing out a plane window above the clouds.

Charity Terry-Lorenzo’s narration is spot-on — warm and expressive, capturing the humor and charm of Diane Scotland’s writing. Her portrayal of Lila, the florist-turned-sleuth, made the story feel delightfully intimate, like overhearing gossip in the row behind me. By the time the “cake table collapse” happened, I was completely hooked — trading turbulence for plot twists.

The story itself delivers everything you’d want in a cozy mystery: charming pets, quirky side characters, and plenty of red herrings. I especially liked the balance between humor and suspense. It’s light enough to relax with but just twisty enough to keep you guessing until landing.

If you love the Coffeehouse Mysteries or Hannah Swensen series, this one fits right in — sweet, clever, and a little bit mischievous. I landed before the final chapters and actually found myself sitting at the gate with my headphones still in, needing to know whodunit.

Great fir my trip
