When the body of a young woman is exhumed from unconsecrated ground—her remains marked by signs of a deviant burial—Jason and Daniel are drawn into a case steeped in fear and folklore. Whispers of the occult and tales of vampires, which had recently gripped London society, force them to confront the strange and the supernatural.

But the more they uncover about the victim, the more the bizarre precautions taken with her body seem misplaced. Was she truly a vampire, a witch, or merely a tragic figure whose brutal death and macabre burial were meant to stoke fear—or silence the curious?

As Jason and Daniel dig deeper, they find themselves tangled in a web of secrets someone is desperate to keep hidden. And if they ignore the warnings, one of them may be next in the sights of a deadly vampire hunter.

This was so intriguing I couldn't put it on pause! It's 2:30 am. The book doesn't release yet so I won't give anything away, only saying I will be putting it on pre-order for my library because it's that good!!
Well Done!!!

Gripping!

the ending has me a little emotional! it's been a great journey with Redmond and Hayes in this series. great narration and love the character growth. I wish Jason and Daniel had more of a balanced dynamic when it comes to solving cases. it often feels like Jason is the hero and head-thinker and Daniel fumbling 80% of the time. but I still enjoy this series despite it

lovable main characters

The narrator is terrible with an American accent and really takes the listener out of the stories.

Jason is really getting on my last nerve. He's become an insufferable know it all. Give Daniel some bloody credit for once.

The characters, story lines and reflection of the times were expertly crafted in this latest book. Marvelous and captivating, warm and human in the main characters through to those merely interviewed in the investigation and supporting. My only negative comment is with the narrator. Most of,her voices are fine, but Jason’s voice, inflections and emotion are absolutely awful. Perhaps the reader is English and is trying to sound American, but as in all these books, she’s make this wonderful man sound human less, idiotic and shamefully like a bad actor.

Imagine this far through the series and here is the best
