Kendrick

Work partner. Life partner. Complicated. Mine.

That's how I describe Spencer. The most important thing being that he's mine. I may not get all of him, but I get as much of him as he can give me. That's all I need. But the want, the desire, it lives under the surface, longing for something, for more, but knowing that more is about as likely as me walking away from him. Never. Gonna. Happen.

Spencer

The only thing that exceeds my obsession with possessing Kendrick is my love for the man—and my ability to do my job. Well, as long as he's not clouding my thoughts.

His existence fuels me. His presence energizes me. His touch grounds me. I need him. And I want him to need me the same way. The thought of him getting the one thing I can't give him from someone else? Death would be more merciful than I would be to whomever had him that way. He's mine. No one touches what's mine.

Then a case falls in our laps. One that shouldn't exist. One that can't exist. One that needs what we do best. One that changes everything.

This is a spinoff of Aurora Crane's Catalyst series but works perfectly fine as a standalone. If you enjoy characters who are over-the-top possessive, then you'll love this audio. Spencer and Kendrick start out super possessive and codependent and glory in it, egging each other on to be even more possessive! There's also a case they're investigating with lots of twists and turns and some cameos from a few characters from Catalyst. JF Harding brings all of his skill at audio performances to this story and brings the whole world to life! Can't wait for more from Aurora Crane and JF Harding!

Incredibly Possessive!

If J.F. Harding is narrating, I'm there. This book has a lot of sex. Super duper possessive, crazy possessive sex. That's almost what the entire premise is. Because J.F. Harding is so good at tone and emotions, I was happy to listen. But to say the story had much plot would be a lie. Basically one guy is Ace but doesn't know it. Or at least that's what it seemed. It was a little lack luster to have one guy unable to get hard during sex with his one true love, but whatever. The worst part was the ending.
SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT.
The idea that two trained and seasoned assassins wouldn't have thought maybe the bad guy would show up at their place? When they know he's been watching them? Yeah, no. That was ridiculous. Then, they have the one MC tie up the other MC and for whatever reason the MC actually tied the guy so well that when it all started to go down he couldn't even untie him. It was pretty silly. The bad guy wasn't standing over them. If the guy had tied the knots semi tight it would have been good enough. And both bad guys get their ass kicked almost including a third guy. It was really bad. Aurora Crane is good at the possessive sexy guys but she is lost when it comes to writing action scenes that make sense. These tough assassins were way too easily jumped.
But again, J.F. Harding, so I'll try the next book too. If it was any other narrator doing this series I'd be out by now.

These tough guys are kind of incompetent
