At Rushing Farm, the Manning household — with Aunt Flora at its head — lives in harmony. With the appearance of George Manning, however, peace is at an end. George is a successful actor, spoilt and selfish. He sees nothing at Rushing but discomfort and boredom, and his relations hope that he will carry out his repeated threat of departing by the next train. But with the arrival of Brian Lorimer and the enchanting Angela Reynolds, George finds something at Rushing which proves a greater attraction than his comfortable existence in London.

Story of a large family in England, about the 1940’s. Sweet story with well drawn characters. I enjoyed listening during my quiet times.

“My Dear Aunt Flora”
Her books are often written in a humorous way as Elizabeth Cadell was a master of comedic writing. They are gentle books perhaps best described as romantic suspense as many contain a mystery.
I love Phyl and Jonny but George just cracks me up. I literally had trouble stopping the hysterical laughter over the dialogue between George and the other characters, especially with Aunt Flora.
Incredible narration by Alexandra Reynolds, the author’s great granddaughter.

Absolutely excellent in every way!
