This is a favorite of mine. The narrator really captures the voice of the character, and the writer keeps the danger pouring while the 14-year-old hero handles the pressure-cooker situation with ultimate competence.

This story was a lot of fun for me, it reminds me a bit of the old school video games I used to play, Your main character finds out that everyone in town but her has died in their sleep. So she has to go around and look for clues to what happened and meanwhile fight the bug like creatures that are pretending to be human. And she has a DHS guy on the phone to help her. I liked the book a lot and plan on buying the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this, immensely. I found the story engaging, the sequence of events and the processes believable, and the performance extremely listen-to-able.
While I could see a number of things from the foreshadowing, the manner by which they were presented in-story was interesting and surprising. Ms. Evans' narration was excellent, both in diction and performance. There were several spots where I almost cried, as I-the-listener was supposed to, due to the story and performance.
I'm not fond of horror, but this didn't strike me as gratuitously descriptive/gorefest. Some of the circumstances hit *MY* oh-g*d-no points (but not in a bad way).
