From the USA TODAY best-selling author of Truth or Beard.

What do a cynical former Marine and a sheltered former Olympic contender have in common?

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

He has a girlfriend, and she's never been kissed.

He's sullenly sarcastic, and she's earnestly empathetic.

He can't stop thinking about her.

She knows she should keep her distance.

Nevertheless, when opposites attract, the results may be unexpected, but they're also undeniably magnetic.

Ninja at First Sight is a stand-alone, prequel novella (for book five of the Knitting in the City Series, Happily Ever Ninja).

I prefer to listen to a story more than once before reviewing it and I must say, I enjoyed the “Knitting In The City” series just as much the second time as the first. Between Penny’s wit in and of daily life and the fantastic narrations of each and every narrator she has chosen, the stories were each a belly laugh and a captivating story.
Kudos 👍🏻 to everyone involved in the making of these audiobooks.
😣 I do have one complaint. Why O why are the women referred to as “girls”??? Are the males “boys” ? If we are discussing “girls and boys” should they be in an adult romance story??

Nice backfill for a great story

I found this series because I had listened to the narrator in connection with another author and I was searching for other books she had narrated. I just loved the narrator in this book. Also, this author is talented, engaging and just downright hilarious! I intend to read the rest of the series.

Great, funny and entertaining story!

Each character Penny Reid creates for this series is more interesting than the last. Here she gives us two characters who have been formed into interesting and complex persons by the challenging and atypical lives they have led. Fiona’s reasoned decision to start living her life by meeting new people and trying new things leaves the listener more frightened for her feelings than she is for herself. And seeing her go toe to toe with the disputatious Greg Archer reveals the nucleus of the woman that will become the wise and enigmatic motherly member of the knitting group around which this series revolves. Plus, as romance stories go, seeing Greg’s adoration of and respect for Fiona is completely enchanting and left me wistful for a Greg of my own.

This series just keeps getting better!

I admire Penny’s ability to come up with such different types of personalities in this story. The ones here are certainly different than any other story I have read ever. Especially the male character. Em Eldridge did an absolutely amazing job narrating this and capturing the essence of him with his accent, and intellect. If you are looking for something different, this is it. Not a huge plot in this story, but the mood and personality of the characters is portrayed so well, it’s definitely a treat. So glad I found this author. She is talented in capturing personalities in a way I haven’t come across before. Enjoying this series very much.

Refreshingly different
