This is the first book I've read by Carr and the first book I've listened to that was narrated by Callaway. The book held my interest all the way through and Callaway does a fantastic job of narrating. She brings a lot of energy and has a robust voice that found all the nuance in the characters. She'll be a narrator I listen to again.

The book, however, could have been quite a bit shorter, as some details, particularly in the love stories, were related multiple times, and the fact that the two love stories shared so many similarities stretched belief. But the characters were quirky and likable, the story clean, the writing adept. Fans of Christian romance should love this one.

I enjoyed so many things about this story. The intelligence of the characters, the unique personalities, complicated relationships, grappling with doubts and questions, grief and loss, and of course the spiritual depth.
