THE SUNDAY TIMES TOP TEN BESTSELLER

TWICE WINNER OF THE COSTA BOOK OF THE YEAR

Tom Kettle, a retired policeman, and widower, is settling into the quiet of his new home in Dalkey, overlooking the sea. His solitude is interrupted when two former colleagues turn up at his door to ask about a traumatic, decades-old case. A case that Tom never quite came to terms with. And his peace is further disturbed when his new neighbour, a mysterious young mother, asks for his help.

A beautiful, haunting novel, in which nothing is quite as it seems, Old God's Time is an unforgettable exploration of family, loss and love

I was confused at first and then when I realized what was happening the mastery was evident

A memorable story superbly read

Though I appreciated the structure of the novel, I became a bit weary of all the digressions and wordy metaphors.

Too wordy

I listen while travelling and found this difficult to listen to. I had to have the volume really high as the reader went from almost a whisper to almost a shout and I was missing so much of the whispered bits. However it is an amazing story - so so very sad.

Don't listen while driving........

I have never left a review before, despite having listened to hundreds of books. This time, though, I am drawn to express my admiration both for the amazing writing, and the superb narration. A marriage made in heaven.

Fab story; perfect narration
