In this chilling psychological thriller, one woman's dark past becomes another's deadly future

In 2003, sixteen-year-old Rebecca Winter disappeared.

Mysteriously ominous things began to happen blood in the bed, periods of blackouts, a feeling of being watched though Bec remained oblivious of what was to come.

Eleven years later she is replaced.

A young woman, desperate after being arrested, claims to be the decade-missing Bec.

Soon the imposter is living Bec's life. Sleeping in her bed. Hugging her mother and father. Learning her best friends' names. Playing with her twin brothers.

But Bec's welcoming family and enthusiastic friends are not quite as they seem. As the imposter dodges the detective investigating her case, she begins to delve into the life of the real Bec Winter and soon realizes that whoever took Bec is still at large, and that she is in imminent danger.

This was a great story that grabs you from the very beginning. I liked that I didn't see the end coming, it kept me guessing without being too obvious. Very well written and narrated. definitely recommend to those who like sorry like Gone Girl or Girl on the Train.

I listened to this book in its entirety one day at work. It was a great listen. I didn't love the very first chapter but it picked up the pace and was a refreshing and new premise. Loved the surprises and twists. And the ending was great.

Awesome

It took about 30 mins to get used to the narrator’s accent, I did not have any issues with her performance thereafter. Halfway through the book, I did wonder when it would ramp up. Towards the end, when it did, it was great. I would recommend to a friend with the disclaimer about it get a tad bit boring mid way through but I did enjoy the read and was happy I did not give up on it.

Wrapped up nicely

This was well worth the listen. I would also have read this book and been glad for it. The authors use of time and eeking out just enough information to keep you guessing worked well

Very good listen.
