Rodrick is a con man, as charming as he is cunning. Hrym is a talking sword of magical ice, with the soul and spells of an ancient dragon. Together the two travel the world parting the gullible from their gold and freezing their enemies in their tracks. But when the two get summoned to the mysterious island of Jalmeray by a king with genies and elementals at his command, they'll need all their wits and charm if they're going to escape with the greatest prize of all - their lives.

From Hugo Award winner Tim Pratt comes a tale of magic, assassination, monsters, and cheerful larceny, set in the award-winning world of the Pathfinder role-playing game.

A solid little adventure set in the Pathfinder Role Playing world. You don't have to be a fan of the game to enjoy the tale of Rodrick and his sarcastic magic sword, Hrym. Great narration.

Gold, treachery, and magical talking swords!

I love this series and these characters. However the reader, while good, pales in comparison to capturing the main characters as the first book did. It took me a long time before I was able to settle in and just accept the fact that the reader sounds nothing like i felt the characters would.

Luckily for me I had gone through something similar with a previous series and was already used to the readers voice and cadence.

The story itself was great and gave a huge tale with many twists and turns that kept me guessing, but also feeling like I was there.

I enjoy the Pathfinder Tales and the voices they used for Roderick and Hrim in Liars Blade was perfect. Steve West's performance leaves much to be desired.

Story great, don't like the reader.

Steve West is in no way a bad narrator I was throughly let down by him compared to narrator of liars blade other than that this is a fine tale

Good story, less than stellar narrator
