ZOMBIES MEET THE MAFIA IN JOHN RINGO’S BLACK TIDE RISING UNIVERSE, AUTHORED BY A RISING STAR IN SCIENCE FICTION, BRIAN TRENT!

Before the world fell, Silvio Cipriano was a contract-killer for the Italian Mafia.

When the H7D3 virus came to Italy, Silvio worked to forget his past, to build a different future. Fighting to protect his loved ones from the zombie hordes, he organized the survivors, raised them up from the ashes, and gave them hope.

Now, a new enemy has arisen. Worse than the zombies, and bent on conquering the planet one nation at a time, they’ve set their sights on Italy . . .

. . . with no idea what’s awaiting them.

Not up to Ringo/ Baen standard of military accuracy— “VLS cells for short range only?”

“‘NATO’ cruise missile with a nuclear warhead, being launched from a presumably from the name formerly RN frigate?”

Apart from that, it wasn’t bad. But I expect better from Baen.

Naval errors broke suspension of disbelief

Black Tide Rising is one of my favorite series and this latest installment does t disappoint!

Another great book in the series.

An excellent continuation of the story and especially the characters from the Italian part of the story.

A very good continuation of the series

Great characters, riveting story. We rejoin Sergio, whose prior story is in, I believe, We Shall Rise. This is a satisfying conclusion, and features a bigger cast of characters (both good and bad) with their own sub-stories. Some tense moments in the middle (no spoilers), but it does end well for _most_ of the people that you will grow to care about. Highly recommended, especially if you have read or listened to the rest of the series.

If this is the last of the series, it ends well!
