By the age of 13, vulnerable Sheffield teenager Samantha Owens had fallen through the cracks in the care system. I work in community health. This story is not new, but nonetheless a stirring 1st person account of a child in a dysfunctional family, the tragic journey and eventual making of a new family. I loved the book and narrator.

While this was a great book, incredible details and a captivating story, the narrator at times sounded like she was drooling almost. As if she had a mouth full of gum or needed to spit. At times It was a bit too much

This is very touching...my heart broke for this young girl. She seemed so alone and desperate with no one to help her.

6 hours of her taking no accountability for any of her actions. choosing instead to blame her supposed best friend and all the tricks. Yes she was a minor. Yes she was gullible. yes what was done to her was wrong but she was a willing participant. Claiming mental rape. just admit you were weak minded and wanted to be accepted by a bad person. take some accountability. hated it. couldn't wait for it to end.
