Celebrate queer faith and take your rightful place at God’s table with Brandan Robertson, the “TikTok Pastor.” The biblical scholar and social activist also reads this program.

For too long, the Bible has been weaponized to exclude LGBTQ+ individuals, despite Jesus’ radical message of inclusion. In Queer & Christian, Brandan Robertson envisions a faith where all are unequivocally embraced.

Ostracized at school, Brandan thought he had finally found his community when he joined the local church. But he soon realized that they were as intolerant as his peers at school had been—if not more so. After agonizing years of repressing his true identity, he discovered that God’s table had always had a place for him. Jesus’ love knows no bounds, embracing everyone unconditionally.

Queer & Christian is a joyful celebration of queer faith and an unyielding reclamation of the Bible. Dive into pages that offer:
-Compelling, evidence-based counterarguments to the “clobber verses” often used to condemn queerness
-Celebrations of queer saints within the Bible—more numerous than you might believe!
-Responses to commonly asked questions by queer folks and allies who’re feeling lost within the Christian faith

Brandan Robertson stands as a beacon of love, hope, and unwavering support for anyone ready to reclaim their faith from the clutches of intolerance.

I’m relatively new to exploring ideas in progressive theology and this is the 4th book I’ve read in the genre around sexuality.

He deftly recaps some of the main ideas around alternate interpretations of scripture, while adding many ideas I haven’t yet heard elsewhere and weaving in his own personal stories and experiences.

I found it to be soul expanding and it’s generated new questions for me to consider.

Listening to this book was such a motivation. It’s too bad I didn’t have this book when I was coming out! If I did, perhaps I would not seek for anything else; now a Unitarian Universalist.
I highly recommend this book to my fellow LGBTQIA siblings who are spiritual/religious and having a dilemma questioning coming out.

THANK YOU, Mr. Brandan Robertson!

Best wishes!🏳️‍🌈✊🏼✝️

Very nice book, accessible and thoughtful approach to scripture and sexual ethics. Great overview for anyone struggling with how to reconcile faith and queerness, with helpful strategies for reading and doing faith from a queer perspective. What a legend

This book should be mandatory reading for every seminary student every Bible college student and every pastor who graduated prior to the writing of this book. It should also be strongly, encouraged reading for every queer person every Christian and every person who has to deal regularly with queer people or Christian people in short this book should be read by every single person in America or any other country impacted by the twisting of scripture by evangelical Christianity. Not only does this book beautifully and accurately breakdown, the clobber passages and make it clear that the Bible does not in fact, condemn homosexuality, this book also takes an incredible approach to sex education that should be taught in every single school instead of the abstinence only nonsense. Many of us were taught and is still being taught today. I have been a long time fan of Brendan Robertson but even if I had never heard of him prior to listening to this book, I would be a fan of his work now

This is a must read

The book is well thought out, responding to standard non-affirming arguments with compassion and reason. It’s one of those books I wish was available in my youth rather than now as it would have prevented a lot of wounds. Now, at least, it’s healing those wounds.

Insightful and affirming
