I don't even know where to start with this review. I'm amazed at how much was put into this story that seems on the shorter side. It was an amazing ride, it delivered on steam, action, and believe it or not even laughter. I was just stunned and in awe of this deliciously dark nugget of a book. I highly reccomend it. But it is a bit dark so beware.

It's a short book but it's worth every penny! I wasn't sure when I read other reviews saying it was cute and funny. I'm always on the hunt for dark, taboo, and darker. I'm not sure how but this story was just amazingly satisfying! It's violent and graphicly sexual and light years away from anything even vaguely PC. The crazy thing is that it was funny and sweet and cute! Great HEA ending leaving you feeling all “awww.”Somehow this book manages to combine all those aspects without being an overly dramatic, cutesy, happy go lucky heap of juvenile ridiculousness.
This story more than satisfied. Dark, taboo, and sexual enough to keep my jaded attention. Sweet and fresh/original enough to make me feel less jaded!
Absolutely worth the money or credit. It’s going onto my favorites list for sure. I think this may become one of my go-to relistens.
If your still on the fence- just do it! Go for it! Seriously! Get the book, it's great. You'll be happy you did

this book was very good! the narrator was excellent. he had a very sexy rough voice but spoke clearly. I didn't mind his female voice at! some female voices aren't good at all so I won't say I'd prefer a duet. his female voice was fine. the story was great. and I absolutely loved her! she was strong, witty and hilarious 😂. I love dangerous women! and the fact that the author didn't change her into some weak scared woman just for the MMC was perfect!! she's strong and he's strong. no need to change her! I loved that HE loved her monster inside! the spice was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 oooo baby! I just wish we had another book following this story. perhaps with his red haired friend? that would be fun.

I really enjoyed this book. The premise was so much fun! Astoria was a complete sociopath and being in her head was the most interesting. She had no compassion or consequences for her actions. She could murder someone for standing there and not feel any remorse. Yet she looked sweet and beautiful as an angel. I completely loved her. As for Blackmane, he's done bad stuff and I didn't really like him throughout the book.

I listened to this on audiobook narrated by Aaron Smith. He did an excellent job with the different voices- the grittiness of Blackmane, the even-toned guards, the high class softer-sounding princess. It was easy to forget one narrator was doing it all.

Overall: 4 stars
Performance: 5 stars
Story: 4 stars

Totally unexpected story and there is no damsel in distress in which made the story seem more interesting and genuinely entertaining. I really enjoyed the story and the narrator did a great job!
