Skylar Abramson doesn't believe in fairy tales. Shape shifters, maybe, but not fairy tales. The daughter of one of Finland's most powerful businessmen, some might say she grew up in one: wealth, international recognition, houses around the world...but Skylar has spent the last decade struggling to escape her father's reputation. Now, finally, Skylar made a life for herself outside of his shadow...until she learns that Emanuel Abramson is dying.

Skylar agrees to fly home to see him, despite her better judgement. She'll even put up with the moody bear shifter he's hired to protect her on the visit. Its only two weeks, and then she'll have made her peace: she'll never have to see her father - or the alarmingly attractive Isak Liefsson - again.

Isak is a bodyguard, by trade and by nature. His people protect their own, and as soon as Isak sees his boss's gorgeous daughter, he can't help but claim her as his. The girl has no idea of the real reason she's back in Finland, but a series of attempts on her life make it hard to keep that secret. Can Isak keep Skylar safe while resisting his inner animal?

Does Skylar even want him to try?

This story had an interesting plot that surprised me and kept my attention. However, the narrator's monotone reading made it difficult to finish. The author made effort to show chemistry between the MCs, but the narration made their dialog seem dull.

Good story, but monotone.
