A year has passed since the war against Jack's father freed the humans from their roles as blood slaves and servants to the vampire race. I love jack. Idk if here is a better character in this whole series. Other then maybe William as a close tie. I love that they have grown to be amazing friends and are helping each other heal and find purpose.

The narrator was clear and easy to understand. I have read all the books in the captive series. The book was slow and drawn out in the middle but picked up the pace at the end. I did enjoy this book.
