What a brilliant highly descriptive action packed end of the world thriller! I listened to the audio version of this book and the voices are wonderful! They all read their parts so perfectly with perfect inflection that helps you really get a feel for the type of person the character is.
Johan has experienced the plague first hand and miraculously survived. Her pairs up with a bumbling Chauncey and a brave Lenora to battle through the plague and survive.
This is a completely immersive read full of horrifically graphic detail and wonderful character development. The banter between the characters is perfect. The disgusting, creepy new monsters are terrifying in the best way. This is one book that it's easy to get lost in. Written with so much graphic detail it's easy to paint the scene in front of you and be consumed.
When I say horrific detail think...
"Emaciated"
"Crushed his head like a grape"
"Bloodied eye socket a blackened splatter"
"Brains and black slime oozed from its cracked skull"
