The One didn’t exist.

Then I met Meadow.

The band's honorary little sister was off-limits. Too late for that. She says we’re "nothing serious", but she’s gotten under my skin and I can’t stop thinking about her. And when I touch her, I know we’re meant to be.

Happy Endings don’t exist.

Not even with Ridge.

My big plans never included falling for a rock star. Too soon for that. He wants to make us a "thing", and I can’t deny our chemistry is combustible. His persistence is wearing me down, making his proposition hard to resist.

If true love only exists in fairy tales, why am I beginning to believe that Ridge just might be my happily ever after?

This stand-alone Second Chance Rock Star Romance by New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott will have you falling in love with Ridge Carson while introducing you to his sexy as sin band mates - Jet, Tulsa, and Rivers Crow.

I have to say Meadow
Was hard to like. I tried to emphasize with why she made the decisions she made but just couldn’t

Not too fond on the lead female character

The female narrator is difficult. I love this series, but she made it difficult to finish.

I love Teddy Hamilton. Sometimes I like Lucy Rivers.

Ridge - the 4th book in the Crow Brothers series.

Dave Carson might be my favorite, although it’s very close to a 4 way tie with the rest of the Crow Bros.

This book has none of the dramatic stuff going on in the background of the MFC that we find in the first three books. Dave/Ridge meets Stella's sister one night and they are immediately attracted to one another. They have a fling on a road trip, and he wants nothing more than to be with her forever.

I've got to admit, having read about Stella and Meadow in Rivers' book, I really thought she should be older than 21 by the onset of this book, but her age is pivotal to the story.

Meadow behaves quite immaturely in a lot of the first 2/3 of the story, but since her youth and immaturity are actually pivotal to the plot, I had to press on. She's still in college and is an excellent student in her major. She spends 6 months in London on a internship to a well-respected marketing firm before returning to Austin to finish her degree and graduate. This is not really a spoiler and it happens in chapter 1.

Dave is already in love, but Meadow doesn't want to make any sort of commitment until she makes sure that her life is in order and that she'd be able to take care of her own life. Her divorced parents are what have scarred her so that she can't even imagine that love could be about compromising in order to make a relationship work on both sides.

I seriously read the first 60% of the book feeling like someone was holding my heart with a closed fist. I just always want the romance and the love and the HEA and sometimes it's hard for someone with a personality like mine to wade through so much of Dave's pain while he keeps fighting for their love.

At the end of Chapter 39, I had to find a quiet place to have a good cry. This is a pivotal chapter between what was and what might be. Fortunately, once you get past this point, Dave's pain isn't ruining his ever day and he's in that resigned space where he knows he's made the right decisions and now, it's up to Meadow.

I'm a huge fan of Rock Star romance and I love the Fantasy World that is centered around The Resistance.

This isn't even my first time reading this book - I read it on KU SEVERAL months ago, so it doesn't show up as "read" on GR. So - I do recommend this book, although again, I will just warn you that if you have a heart as soft as mine, you might struggle as I did through the hard parts in the first half of the story.

Sweet Scale: 4/5 (it's all Dave/Ridge)
Spicy Scale: 3/5 with a nudge toward 3.25 for discussion

If it wasn't for Teddy Hamilton, I never would have finished this book. Lucy Rivera can not do a man's voice and made it very hard to finish this book. The story could have been better, if not so drawn out. It is one i will return, for sure....

So long
