A famous actress with a price on her head...a hardened security specialist who refuses to acknowledge their love. Can she convince him to reconnect before they run out of time?

Griff Quinn’s purpose is to save lives and some day make restitution for the wrongs he’s committed. He’s loved Scarlett Lily for almost a dozen years, but no one will find that out, especially not Scarlett.

When Griff finally comes for her after a decade of separation, Scarlett is ready to reconnect with an Oscar-worthy kiss. His coldness hurts worse than the years of rejection and silence. Scarlett isn’t sure that anything will penetrate his hardened heart. The only comfort in having Griff in her life again is he might be the only man who can protect her from a demented fan offering a million dollars for her kidnapping.

Will love prevail, or is Griff too far past feeling to let even the love of his life in?

Most of the audiobooks I listen to have a female narrator so it took me a minute to adjust to a male but once I did it was great.
I felt like this story spent a long time on the romance and not that much time in battle with the bad guys. I kept waiting for the bad guys to show and it wasn't happening. Kinda felt a little long in the middle there where nothing was happening. The romance had basically stalled and the intrigue wasn't happening. I'd been happy to cut some of that out and just move the story along.

I liked Griff quite a bit even if he was a little dense about love. Scarlett sometimes bugged me with being super dramatic and almost a little whiny. But I liked that she was tough and could fight to try to save herself.

it is so hard to find stories that are upbeat, clean and have a good story line. I appreciate the writing and narration. Please continue to share your clean stories with everyone!

This series has it all and tells an amazing story without using sex to sell it. There is intrigue, danger, laughter and love. Told with respect and integrity. This is book 4 and I haven't been disappointed yet.

Great series love, danger and a great story

Griff and Jane were in love during their college years until Jane became a film star and Griff became Special Opps in the military. Why had Griff enlisted then break her heart by ending the relationship?
Griff could not believe it. He had become someone who would never be good enough for Jane. He still loved her and always would but he could never have a relationship with anyone. He was the best at protecting the innocent now. But it was now Jane who needed to be protected. He couldn’t refuse the assignment. He could not trust Jane’s safety to anyone else. He would just have to maintain a distance and block his feelings as he had been trained to do .
As Cami Checketts is prone to do, about the time the reader/listener thinks the story has ended as expected, another twist is “thrown in”.
This is a very touching, fast-flowing story. It touches on the topic of PTDS, stardom, Christian living, Black Web, and more.
Although Narrator, Steven Dexter, has a masculine voice, he performs the feminine voices in a way that does not sound silly or fake. He is a very good narrator and performer.

This is an awesome, clean Mystery/Romance
