I tried. I really tried to like this book because someone recommended the author to me. However, it was both unremarkable and unbelievably predictable. It wasn't bad, but it also can't be called good without grossly exaggerating. I would like to give this author another chance but it would have to be free, not at the expense of my credit.

worth listening to if you catch it for free. the intro to the book is pretty bad and I almost put it down but glad I kept with it. I still laugh how he described cop pistol whipping someone as if it was technical strike that was in a training manual.

There are a couple POV and although it follows many zombie tropes there is a bit of uniqueness in the characters and story to justify one's time. frankly I am glad that it didn't make the military and law enforcement completely stupid. still like many other zombie stories the author struggles with the start of how the apocalypse happens and jumps ahead of what would be weeks if not months into Z day. although it's best not to overthink to much regarding such details.

I did look up that it is part of a 3 book series which books 2 and 3 are not on audible as of yet. I would probably only listen to the rest of the series if it was free or a package deal.
