This is a fast-paced mystery set in Savannah. Socialite Patricia Falcon leads a double life, rescuing abused women. I was hooked from the first scene!!

When Patricia’s mother dies under suspicious circumstances, Patricia and her friends embark on a deadly investigation. What I loved about this book is that it all didn’t take place in Savannah but across continents. I honestly couldn’t trust anyone and I was surprised by the reveal in the end. I loved the secret group in Savannah as well. I was very intrigued with it and what they are capable of.

The narrator, Allyson Ryan did a great job portraying all of the characters. She used a variety of tones and inflections keeping me engaged till the very end.

I would recommend this book to lovers of southern charm and thrilling mysteries. I look forward to listening to the next one.

A gripping southern mystery

This is a good story, but the breathy, nasal-sounding, dramatic narration of the female characters is finger nails on a chalkboard cringe-worthy. I almost returned it because it got on my nerves.

This is a good book, but the breathy, dramatic narrator’s spin on the women in this book is cringy.
