Lin and Larry Pardey's first book, Cruising in Seraffyn, is credited with launching 50,000 dreams. This third book in the critically-acclaimed Seraffyn series chronicles their three years spent exploring Ulysses' wine-colored sea.

Lin and Larry paid for their apparent freedom by working along the way delivering and repairing yachts, and writing for magazines around the world. Seraffyn's Mediterranean Adventure, originally published in 1981, will inspire and entertain listeners and show why the Pardey's motto Go Small, Go Simple, Go Now may be more relevant today than it was 30 years ago.

A pleasure to listen to; beautiful story and the narrator has a great voice, but the narrator does not have a good grasp of reading Spanish pronunciation, which hurts the soul while listening to all of the port and island names around Spain.

A wonderful story that will transport you.

Seemed like I was along for the adventure. The narrator was great and the flow good. I also learned a lot about things I had not been exposed to yet in sailing. Great Book

Excellent Book

Would you listen to Seraffyn's Mediterranean Adventure again? Why?

No. I enjoyed it very much, but I have no reason to listen to it again. If anything, I would buy the book so that I could highlight specific locations and situations.

What three words best describe Clara Harris’s performance?

This would have been a great performance. You could really believe that it was Lin Pardey speaking except for the glaring mispronunciations of foreign locations and nautical and boating terms. I am surprised that Clara Harris did not take the time to learn the correct pronunciation of these terms and places.

Any additional comments?

If you car considering a life of cruising, or even an extended cruise, this is worth listening too. However, it is worth listening to for a vicarious experience as well.

A great story marred by grating mispronunciations

Hell of a story we’ll told and very intriguing. Would definitely recommend to a friend

I love this couple and their stories, I have most all of the Audible books. I can understand mis-pronunciation if the readers are not sailors or from the West Coast but this one made me feel that she was a speed reader. I even checked to see if the play back speed had moved on my iPod. Lin and Larry's stories are to be savored and enjoyed not rushed through. They are so full of color and excitement I felt Ms Harris did not do them justice. Other than that, I loved the book.
