I've been reading the audible reviews and I'm pretty sure people are either A)setting their expectations too high or B)listening to the wrong thing?
The audiobook follows the book exactly, so I don't know why people are saying there are swear words. You can easily teach this in a high school class without getting the book banned.
Of course the stories aren't good! It's for beginners. It's not meant to be a literary classic (and trust me, I've read a LOT of literary classics). It's meant to be an easy way to learn words and get use to listening to the language.
The book literally says it's for beginners. It's for people who are new to the language. Believe it or not, but some people DON'T know the basic Portuguese words like 'sim' and 'bem'. It's good for people who want to start reading right away without getting to an A2 level or above. If you're above A2, then this audio will be too easy.
Overall, I would say it accomplished its goal--it's spoken by a native speaker, the stories are interesting enough to listen to (again, don't expect literary fiction--expect college freshmen level storytelling here, and it's much better than reading dry text), the words are pronounced clear so you can actually 'hear' each word being spoken (and therefore know what the word sounds like--again, beginner level), and by the time I finished the audio my listening level increase immensely. It's clean, it's organized, its appropriate level for its target audience.

It looks as if someone is writing false reviews. There was no profanity, there was no jumping of the stories, and it is an interesting way to learn and to be exposed to different Brazilian accents.

The Story narration needs better sound and volume and ….liveliness from the narrator

I expected something better on this regard

The voice needs liveliness

I was hoping to leverage the book to expand my vocabulary. But it was so basic I got absolutely no value. Not worth your time

Are you kidding me. The author doesn’t even say the title of the story? I don’t even know what I’m hearing.
