Abandoned to die in the wilderness, Merrick refused to give in.

Now, he’s growing stronger and is more determined than ever to drive back those who would ravage his world.

Yet he has only just begun to scratch the surface of how deeply his world has been infected, and aftering alerting the Empire to the danger, he planned to join the World Guard in an attempt to break the scaled beast’s hold on the mountain range.

A dream of a great spirit beast interrupts his plan, however, and sends him and his friends on a wild journey spanning deserts, swamps, and deep jungles. Facing countless dangers as he seeks to understand what the future holds for him, Merrick soon finds that the greatest changes to the world might just be happening inside of him.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I wish now that we got more books faster in this series. It took me a bit to remember what happened in the first book.

Another good 1

Just finished it after relistening to the first book, and I enjoyed it so much. Good pace, good world building, good action. I would love more character building for the side charecters, especially Peta

Great continuation!

While this one is still a bit simplistic in style, the story is enjoyable and I’ll absolutely be looking for part 3!

Better than the 1st book!

This is the start of another great series by Seth Ring. I want to stop being drawn into his expansive storylines but I just can't, I'm waiting with baited breath for the next books in the Tower and Battle mage farmer series and now this, please Seth, just stop!

Please stop it!

It's wierd how the writer alienated all humans (his readers) in this book. Am I suppose to root for the locals and be happy that the protagonist is morally ambiguous when it comes to mass murdering people. It is very strange. The first book didn't do that but this one sure does, and it made the book off. When the final chapter came to an end I was actually at odds with the protagonist who has become murderous and ethnocentric. I loved the first one, I did not like this one.

Alienating
