Thanks to the silversmith Fran, Lawrence now has a map of the North. But Lawrence's gladness at the thought of finally being able to take Holo back to her home is short-lived, as upon revisiting Lenos he is embroiled in the strife surrounding a forbidden text. It is said that this mysterious book contains details of methods that threaten the land of Yoitsu itself. But in trying to get his hands on the book, Lawrence, who must return to the marketplace, finds himself running out of time to head for Yoitsu with Holo...Pressed into making a decision he may ultimately come to regret, which option will Lawrence choose?! Thought the stubborn two would follow the beginning plot but think fully the plot took a foolish turn. Was a good volume to listen to.

Only fourteen volumes to get here :-)

I have enjoyed the audio book since it started but felt a little sad that it was just back and forth and not character narrated. I was pleasantly surprised when they started doing the actual character narration in the last few books and my enjoyment sky rocketed with how good it was, finally we got to experience that true Holo and Lawrence banter again. So why then go back again to the old way of just reading chunks at a time back and forth. It just feels so disjointed which is a shame as I felt the books finally hit their stride and were worth the rather steep price tag for a 5-6 hour audio book.

Good Story but Narration felt like a step backwards

this volume is only a few hours long, it feels very short in comparison to the others volumes. the story as well, while very good, is very short. so it feels like nothing really important happens in this chapter

great story, great acting, way to short
