She's supposed to find him the perfect match. Falling for him herself was not part of the deal.

Mallory has zero magic. No spells, no shape-shifting, and no flashy Preternatural strength. But in the magical city of Coldstream, Mallory has made knowledge her power and she turns secrets and favors into currency.

Enter Alexander MacTire: alpha werewolf, wealthy businessman, and walking temptation. He wants Mallory to find him a mate. She wants absolutely nothing to do with him.

But MacTire isn't used to hearing no—and Mallory's not immune to his charm, no matter how hard she tries. What starts as a reluctant business arrangement soon turns into something dangerously personal. Because the more she gets to know him, the less she wants to help him find love . . . with anyone but her.

The first book in the Coldstream Chronicles is jam-packed full of magic, mayhem, and slow-burn heat. It can be enjoyed as a standalone or alongside The Cat Lady Chronicles.

Too short, read in two days after work and uncooked supper. I must know more. Does she possess magic? Can she stand normal in a supernatural world. Only the author knows the secret. Will she leave us on unread. Or will she delight us with another adventure with our heroine.

Our hard working female with no power brings the supernatural under her unknowing thrall. Her work conflicts with desire.

I knew Mallory and Alex would be a great match from the time they had dinner together in Kit’s book. :D
I like how competent Mallory is. She knows her strengths and limitations. More importantly, she knows how to utilize her strengths to overcome her limitations.
Alex was well-written. He’s incredibly powerful, but not all-powerful. Even he can occasionally need help from others, even a squib. His natural instinct is to be in charge, but he learns to stand beside Mallory, rather than in front of her.

Excellent!
