The entropy affect was a decent story, but I had a few small complaints. This book was recommended highly to me from several Star Trek websites. No none of them gave the fact that one of our favorite characters, Captain James Kirk, was barely seen in this story. As with any story dealing with time travel there are several gaping plot holes. Finally George tries to make voices for some of the new characters, and often is hard to understand. I'm not crazy about books with sound effects and music, both of which this book contained, but neither was that bad in this title.

The reading and sound effects make this engaging story come to life. It has the charm of the original series and the performance here really helps the story to shine. 5 stars.

Brings a great Star Trek adventure to life!

This is an enjoyable, if odd, time travel tale that holds up pretty well. The characters are rendered in a fashion consistent with TOS. The problem was the accents of the characters; they were annoying and sometimes distracting. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable Star Trek yarn.

The Entropy Effect was an enjoyable enough listen for what it was worth. Leonard Nimoy and George Takei, along with the familiar sounds of the enterprise and the original music made to accompany the narration, made this abridged audio book very entertaining. Just in case the guys and gals from Audible read these reviews, I would enjoy listening to a full unabridged Star Trek Novel though.

A Quick Fix For Any Star Trek Fan!

Be warned, this is an adaptation/abridgment of McIntyre's now classic Trek novel. The fun here is in listening to George Takei and Leonard Nimoy do the performance. This is an especially poignant listening experience now that Nimoy has died. Time travel, loyalty, and the bonds of friendship are all on display here in this very quick, but fun listen. I just wish they had recorded an unabridged version. Oh well...
