This book chronicles my 30-plus years in the transportation industry. Starting as a taxi driver during a transit strike, to driving Long Combination Vehicles, measuring over 120 feet long, weighing over 130,000 lbs. My travels have taken me to all of the lower 48 states, and all Canadian provinces except Newfoundland. Some of the stories are quite humorous, others are quite tragic. All have had a lasting effect on me.

If you've ever wondered what it's like to drive a long-haul truck, I highly recommend Don Taylor's Stories from the Road. His stories of life as a trucker are equally fascinating and entertaining. I've learned so much about what an important and challenging job it is. And how compassionate drivers are--including donating food to food banks and arranging for stranded families to sleep in their trucks when a road was closed. Definitely worth your time!

As an OTR driver myself I found this book fascinating and riveting! ALL the stories hit close to home, So I believe that every one of them is true.

I liked that it felt like a grandfather reflecting back on their career and telling some interesting stories. Like he says some tragic, some funny. I listen to these types of books to gain perspective and I definitely achieved that. I recommend this book if you’re curious about the job or if you’re just looking for your next read. I thought this book was published by a big publishing company and had lots of reviews however once I finished it I was surprised to see less than ten. I don’t typically write long reviews however I thought I’d go out of my way to let others know that this book is enjoyable and they should get it if they’re curious.
