Marianne seems to have everything. She is married to a handsome Naval officer, Neil Sheridan. They have a daughter, Libby, and a beautiful home near Prince's Park in Liverpool. When war comes, Marianne takes war work and moves in with her mother, Mrs Wainwright, and younger sister. I’m a fan of this era, so I liked the storyline and characters but felt it was drawn out at points and then a sprint to the finish, with lots of the details missing at the end. An ok read.
