From #1 Amazon and USA Today Bestselling Author Bella Matthews comes an enemies to lovers, surprise pregnancy, sports romance.

Hating Jameson Murphy is easy.

Wanting him is where everything gets complicated.

He’s my best friend’s older brother.

My father’s star player.

A charmingly infuriating football god I’ve spent a lifetime avoiding and failing to ignore.

He should be the last man tempting me into bad decisions. But when a snowstorm grounds our flight, and champagne blurs our judgment, one reckless night shatters every rule I’ve put in place . . . leaving me with two little pink lines and one very big problem.

Now, thanks to an unreliable mother, a surprise baby sister, and a new living arrangement I never saw coming, my carefully crafted life is unraveling faster than the worn satin ribbon on my favorite old pointe shoes.

And Jameson?

He’s everywhere.

In my space.

In my secrets.

Looking at me like he already knows how this ends and how it doesn’t.

Forcing me to face a truth I’m not ready to accept . . .

What if surrender doesn’t mean losing yourself?

What if it’s about trusting someone else?

And maybe . . . just maybe, what if it means finally finding home?

Jamie Murphy and Ashton Carmichael's book.

I can not express how much I loved this book! Bella has a way of getting you to fall in love with this universe of hers. She gets you to love the characters and having you so wrapped up in the drama going on in-between the pages that you can't put the book down until it's finished and then wanting to go back and re-read it again. I'm obsessed with her writing, all her books and every character that gets a story. I've never read a bad book by her and will sing her praises and suggest all her books to anyone that loves romance and HEA!

Narrators Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a fantastic job in this duet style audiobook. Jason is always fantastic at anything he narrates and I've listened to plenty of books he's read. He has such a deal and gravely voice. He jumps into the rolls he's narrating and it feels like a real life performance. He can go from pissed off and yelling to soft and caring like it's nothing. He can always dirty talk so nicely! He is one of my favorites too listen to while reading.

Samantha Brentmoor is by far one of my favorite female narrators. She had such a nice voice to listen to, and hope she can change her accents the way she does is amazing. It's not in this book, but her English accent is phenomenal! She does such an outstanding job in any book she narrates and this book was no different.

I knew I was going to love Jamie's book from the type of personality he had in past books. He's the "glass half full" kind of guy. Always happy, always having a good time, always being the funny guy much like his father, Aiden.

I knew there had to be more to this man, and boy was I correct. He always shows up and is always making others feel better. Everyone always calls him a manwh**e, and never took him seriously. How come Dillan is the only person that can see the truth about others in these books? She knew Jamie wasn't a player.

Ashton grew up with Jamie and his brother, Finn. She was always Finn's best friend and Jamie was her older brother, Evan's best friend. They were neighbors as well growing up. Jamie is 2 years older than Ashton, but he had a crush on her in high school. Ashton had a crush on Jamie during that time too. But conversations and tragedy caused them to pull apart and eventually become enemies.

Ashton and Finn became closer after this tragedy and everyone thought they would be the couple getting together. But behind it all, Ashton never had feelings for Finn like that. It was only ever his brother.

Ashton is summoned home from Chicago where she lives as a professional ballerina. Her mother has gotten into some trouble driving (dui) again and Ashton is trying to bail get out. She is in for a surprise though!

While waiting for her flight in Chicago, she runs into Jamie who is there visiting Hendrix (his story is going to be great, I'm positive of it). They both have to share a hotel room after their flight is canceled bc of snow. These enemies drink to much and they have a ONS that is closed door. Which I was surprised that spicy part wasn't written, bc they only have 2 spicy scene in this whole book.

Once they both get back to Kroydon Hills and successfully back to ignoring each other, Ashton's life changes in a big way. To where she has to stay in state and provide for a baby sister she had no clue she had (3 months old).

Finn, who is a doctor at the hospital helps Ashton or by offering up his place for her to stay with Kyrie (the baby). Only his place is his brother's house. So they move in with Jamie, Finn & Ryker. These men love Kyrie, and that little girl live them right back.

While stuck living with Jamie, she has to face the facts about some things. Especially when Jamie decides he is done being her enemy, and wants to just be hers and vise versa. All the while Ashton is pregnant from their 1 night in Chicago and has no clue about it until closer to halfway through it.

This is an emotional book and has some chapters that talk about a tragedy that happened to them. The one that tore them apart. There is guilt and self blame for a lot of things. This book was a more in depth about feelings and healing than it was a spicy romance. It was very enjoyable. Ooh and there is a kidnapping that happens in this book as well. Plus, we get a new character welcomed into their world, in not such a great way.

What a great audiobook! You can never go wrong with Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor! Add in duet narration, and the story comes to life.

Of course, the story delivers with the hot football player who is also a ginger (swoon... with Jason's voice... gah!) and a ballerina who is his brother's best friend. Enemies to lovers, a one night stand, unexpected pregnancy, he fell in high school but life had other plans...now he's tired of waiting (double swoon). Great banter, funny text exchanges, great wprld building (I want to live in Kroydon Hills)lots of emotional moments, a bit of unexpected tension to keep listening just to see what happens next.

It's been awhile since the Muphy family was such a big presence in one the books, so it was great to catch up with Adrian and Sabrina, too. And the epilogue was chef's kiss good and a perfect Easter egg for those who are familiar with the early books in the series. If you know, you know.

I admittedly love how this starts even though Ashton (Ace) Carmichael's reasons for being in that airport are craptastic. Jameson (Jamie, Charmer) Murphy's frequent ribbing is fun, or maybe it's his amusement to how she reacts. Either way, they're easy to like.

I expected nothing less than Jamie stepping up to help in any way possible, and he did not disappoint. I get the years of heartache and animosity, but their chemistry and general support for each other is unwavering. I love it.

There are a couple of big twists that really wowed me. 😲 Like, I really wasn't expecting that! I know there are plenty of people who don't deserve to be parents. Sadly, Ashton really got "lucky" in that department.

The flip side is that Jamie's family has long considered her a member, so the love and kindness there takes away some of the sting. I do love that not only his parents but also his extended family embrace her. It's so sweet! I mean, she gets added to the book club and chat group, so you know they mean business. 🤗🩷🤗

One thing to point out is that football is more of a footnote as this mostly occurs during the offseason. Ashton intentionally getting terminology wrong is funny, though.

I listened to the audio book. The narrators in 💥duet💥 are Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor. I think they do a fabulous job. I really enjoyed listening! 🎧🩷🎧

Once again Bella gives us a story that feels like coming home! I read this in one sitting and could not get enough of Jamie & Ashton! Ashton’s world is literally turned upside down after a call to come home and let’s just say nothing about her trip getting there was as planned. After that steamy night with Jamie, stuck in a hotel after a cancelled flight, Ashton just wants to forget it happened. But their attraction (and a little hate) has been simmering for years. Jamie is so patient, caring, and willing to do anything to show her how much he cares and wants her in his life.

I knew I loved this book when I read it, but listening to Samantha Brentmoor & Jason Clarke perform this in duet was everything I needed. They were phenomenal as Ashton & Jamie and I couldn’t stop listening!

Duet Narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke

What begins as a simple return to Kroydon Hills quickly becomes an emotional journey for Ashton Carmichael. After learning about a baby sister she never knew existed, Ashton is determined to build a better life despite her painful past. Complicating everything is Jameson (Jamie) Murphy—her childhood friend turned rival—who was her best friend’s older brother (and has always been a constant presence in her life).

What starts as unresolved tension rooted in their shared past evolves into something far deeper as buried feelings, sharp banter, and undeniable chemistry resurface. Their journey is filled with emotional growth, hard truths, and the realization that family isn’t always defined by blood—but by those who stand by you no matter what.

Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke deliver standout performances, perfectly capturing Ace’s strength and vulnerability alongside Charmer’s warmth and quiet intensity. Their chemistry and emotional delivery made me feel as if I was eavesdropping on them.

This was an emotional, binge-worthy romance that kept me invested from beginning to end.
