This book provides a great introduction to public speaking, and the audio version provides a smooth narration from the author interspersed with audio from actual presentations from some of the people he used as examples. There's nothing mind-blowing about the content, but it is a concise and handy guide so especially if you haven't read other books on public speaking this is a great one to start with.

What makes your heart sing? Be yourself and fake it till you become it. Stories will make your talk the most memorable, personal stories. Developing a Ted Talk is a lot of practice(200 hrs), rewriting, and storytelling. 18 minutes and tell a good story. Most successful TED talks are about 60% story, and the other % are facts, figures, and logic. This was a good read. Carmine knows his stuff and will definitely help you to become a better public speaker.

I'm a student, and walk for over an hour a day to get to and from classes/work/organizations/etc., and I was getting tired of listening to the same songs over and over again. I had heard of audible before and decided to try it. This was one of the first suggested books it said I should listen to. I already love TED talks and use public speaking as part of my job, so I figured what the hell? it sounds perfect. And it was! Being able to listen when I would otherwise be doing nothing, as well as learning what makes every TED talk so amazing, has helped me become a better and more impactful public speaker, as well as being more knowledgeable overall. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a desire to improve themselves in general, or even just their ability to communicate with other people. You will not be disappointed with this book.

What I enjoyed most was the reminder that we all have our own story and it is how we tell that story that will change our world. Along with the world of others.
