Having been accepted into the summer writing camp in Monterey, CA, Logan worked so hard for in Aries Rising, she is on her way to becoming a real published author! She needs to impress the camps instructor, Henry Jaffa, a renowned journalist, paranormal investigator, and fellow Aquarian, whom she hopes will see the promise in her writing and become her mentor. But when Logan is stuck writing about an obscure folk singer Sean Baylor, whose spirit is rumored to be haunting the quaint seaside town, she is not sure that she will be able to complete her assignment.

Will Logan be able to utilize her knowledge of the planets to impress Henry Jaffa, work through her romantic tug-of-war with the camp brooding bad boy Jeremy, solve the mystery of Sean Baylor's death, all while competing with the overachieving writers for the coveted spots in the camps anthology?

In this second of a series, Logan has made it into the summer writing camp in Monterey, California. She???s determined, in a sincere way, to impress renowned author Henry Jaffa who???s facilitating the camp. Each camper is competing for Jaffa???s attention in hopes of writing the winning story to go into a published anthology. As if this competition weren???t enough for a young teenager to struggle with, Logan is foiled at every turn. Even the author himself becomes an obstacle when he plays Russian roulette with topics and they are each forced to write their papers using the subject someone else has selected. Underlying this veneer, Logan and her classmates are introduced to the ghost of Sean Baylor, former folk singer who died at the height of his career. The ghost story allows the tale to move forward as a unified whole since it impacts everyone. Season this with Logan???s use of her grandmother???s book Fearless Astrology, her love interest, and the usual teenage worries, and you end up with a delightfully unusual young adult novel. Hill has nailed the voice and point of view of young Logan and gives us a range of characters that we recognize in our everyday lives. The tension, conflict and even budding romance are nicely balanced, making the book is appropriate for even the youngest, and oldest ???young adult.??? Jessica Almasy does a wonderful job with the voices of each character and we know exactly who is speaking at any given time. I highly recommend the book.
