Tense story, but unsatisfactory ending. Certainly interested in getting to next novel in the series to discover outcomes of this ending.

I know this is part of what many see as transformational writing in police/crime fiction. And I enjoyed it - but in the end I found it pretty blah.

Disembowelment, police brutality, a shootout in downtown Stockholm with multiple casualties. This violent entry in the Martin Beck series has them all. Highly recommended, but a departure from previous entries.
