The Anteros is the God of requited love and thus, the avenger of love that is unrequited, and love issues are something that Stella and Chev know a lot about. Their partnership began as they came together to solve the murders of their own husbands in The Phoenix, and their relationship became a sisterhood when they realized that that they had both suffered through unhappy marriages.

When Chev wins the heart of one of Stella’s colleagues, in The Cassandra, Stella is tempted to play matchmaker while her own feelings about a certain handsome detective are confusing and frustrating. But at least some of her matchmaking skills have been successful and as The Anteros begins, she and Chev are guests at the beautiful wedding of a friend on an historic college campus. It’s a very happy occasion until something odd happens. A serving of champagne goes wrong and just when the bride and groom take the floor and the dancing starts, they are called away to investigate a body found in the creek that flows through the campus.

Like the creek, another force is flowing through the campus - a blog for students unlucky in love, but instead of support, the blog encourages revenge even murder. As bloggers become victims and commencement and graduation are just a week away, Stella and Chev have to stop the killers, or as Chev refers to them - the psychos - and bring them to justice.
