Ah, good times: the assignment in my creative writing class of telling a story in a hundred words (not including the title). Drabbles must have a beginning, middle, and end. Of course, one must not forget a hook: that twist, zinger, or epiphany to bring the Drabble into focus and make the reader feel as if a world resided in those few words. What elevates this bundle of sixty-nine Drabbles is the narrator, who deploys accents, pacing, and energy with maximum enthusiasm. Sometimes funny. Oftentimes creepy. This provides a veritable cornucopia of quickies. Was I not entertained? I absolutely was!

See what I did above? One hundred words in my review? … Yes. I have a problem. 😜 Seriously, though, I adored this collection. My favorites included numbers 8 Two Coins (the accent!), 18 Sirens (poetic justice!), 21 On Schedule (it waits!), 48 Reflex (hahaha!), and 52 The Genie (the zinger!).
