Normally I bypass anything designated as being read by VV (virtual voice). I've been burned by it too many times in the past. One book I tried was a dual narration read by VV but it had the same voice for both MC's. The chapters would swap out from MFC to MMC and there would be no change in the VV reading to give me a clue when this happened. No change of voice, or break in the reading, no announcement of the change of character just listening to it describe the dress the girl put on going on a date then the next thing I know she had a stiffening c*ck. I was like, "Wait, what??!!". Turned out her chapter had ended and I was now listening to his chapter as he arrived to pick her up for the date. That was traumatizing. lol You would think since it was a VV it would have no problem changing voices from male to female. Fortunately, I think they got THAT kink worked out because that was not an issue with this book. It still has all the same issues it always does, mispronouncing words, using wrong inflections or emotions for various punctions and scenarios. But it wasn't bad. Wasn't great, and definitely would have been better with actual human narration but I still enjoyed the book enough to continue to over look those minor issues. Now, on to the review of the book itself.

I loved the way Silas connected with Dahlia's daughter first. He was perfect for them both since both Silas and Dahlia's daughter seemed to be on the spectrum. This didn't stop him from fitting into their world and completing by filling in all the gaps in it. He was always patient and never got angry, even when he consistently lost to her daughter at every game they played together. He worked really hard to understand them both, figure out what they needed and to give it to them. He wanted nothing more than then to make them both happy. Dahlia was a perfect match for him. She understood him so completely and it showed. Bringing up her daughter whose personality and tendencies seemed to mirror Silas's own prepared her for how to fit with him. She was a strong, compassionate, patient, and loving mother which translated to her connection with Silas. While this story was short, it was perfect. Just my kind of book with a great HEA. I enjoyed this book so much I checked out 2 more in C.L. Cruz's series in spite of them all being narrated VV. The Boss's Curvy Gamer Girl (bout time someone wrote a Gamer Girls Romance - I'll be writing a review for that one too) and The Boss's Naughty Neighbor. I enjoyed both of those as well and will be going back for more of C.L. Cruz.
