He gets everything he could ever want and sells the bottle, but soon afterwards he contracts a disease. Keawe must retrieve the bottle to cure himself. Robert Louis Stevenson's story is a classic depiction of the consequences of envy and desire, and the composed restraint of Roy McMillan's performance lends the tale a foreboding, almost ghoulish tone as Keawe's fortunes turn to tragedy.
