An arranged marriage leads to passionate love in this classic Scottish historical romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice is Jamie, youngest daughter of Baron Jamison - a feisty, violet-eyed beauty. Alec aches to touch her, to tame her, to possess her...forever. But Jamie has vowed never to surrender to a man she considers a highland barbarian.

Alec is everything Jamie’s heart has warned her against - an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks speak of savage pleasures. While Kincaid’s scorching kisses set fire to her blood, she is determined to resist him...until one rapturous moment quells their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatens to conquer her senses...

Julie Garwood's "The Bride" was one of my favorite books when I first read it...now listening to it in audiobook form has brought back my facination with these charcaters!! The heroine is fun, vivacious and strong willed. The hero is a mans-man ready to be bowled over by just the right woman. They are perfect together!! If you liked this book, the spunk of the heroine and the baffelment and strength of the hero, you must read "Saving Grace" by Julie as well. I sure hope they put that one on audiobook soon.

I Love Highlanders!!!

What did you love best about The Bride?

The humor - really funny. The characters - Jamie and Alec are really enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

Yes, it was predictable and followed a formula. But it was quite enjoyable and not totally unbelievable - not totally. It gives you what you are looking for in a "romance novel" - sex and the fantasy man who wants his woman - a nice surprise

Which character – as performed by Rosalyn Landor – was your favorite?

Probably Jamie

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh

Any additional comments?

A perfectly pleasant way to spend a long drive or do nothing day.

Okay maybe I haven't listened to it a million times, but I've listened to it at least 20 times! I love her early romance novels, and the reader is amazing!

Listened to it a million times!

Great way to learn of Scottish life many years ago...good research and great inclusion within the story line...a bit of warrior violence and a bit of lust make it an enjoyable read.

Excellent
