Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny‚ but not important emotions, like love. His family knows better - that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.

As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can't turn it down. Seducing Khai, however, doesn't go as planned. She's hopelessly smitten with a man who's convinced he can never return her affection.

this was such a cute story! there were a few slow moments but overall a great read. i struggled a bit with the breathiness of the narrator in the beginning but that got better as the story went on.

This is a delightful listen! The story is touching, funny, makes you cry. The narrator is exceptional!

I love Helen Hoang's quirky yet relatable characters, and all the things she shows us in her books about being on the spectrum, being an outsider of any kind.

This book deserves all the awards in 2019.

Loved it so much

This was a Beautiful love story for those who enjoy this genre. I really enjoyed the main characters and happy for Esme. It was also nice to hear more about those with autism and managing love, relationships and social interactions. The author did an EXCELLENT job of using the dictionary to express the emotions happening between the two main characters😉

My ears were glued to this book!

This second book is just as cute as the first in this series although it features a different family member.

Cute, too!

While reading this intricate twist and turn of emotions of a young man dealing with autism and coming to realize the emotions he do have for his family, I realized why I love this book and characters so much. It was gracefully written by Hellen Hoang. Solid "A" rating. (punctuation would only slow down my excitement for this book)

A Story Well Written
