The Cat on Salter’s Point is a story of a young social worker, Rachel Thomas, who embarks on a crazy adventure when she accepts her first social worker job at Salter’s Point Regional Hospital. It is a psychiatric facility outside of Seattle. On her first day, a suicidal patient mysteriously disappears from the hospital. Doctor George Benny, who works there, is the patient’s lover and is suspected in her disappearance. Rachel befriends Jamie Lee, who is an alcoholic social worker at the facility. The two of them, suspicious of the doctor, find a way to connect him to the patient’s disappearance. Amid unraveling this mystery, Rachel discovers her ex-lover Ray is having an affair with Jamie’s lover, Anne. This sends Rachel on an emotional roller coaster ride. She struggles with her anger and whether she should tell Jamie. Then tragedy strikes, turning her life upside down. The friendship between these two women and how they cope with the daily challenges and craziness around them, is the central core of this character-driven novel. The Cat on Salter’s Point is a riveting and entertaining fictional story. The Cat on Salter’s Point is also a hilarious story, which shows how the doctors and social workers at this psychiatric facility, are crazier than their patients. The author, Anita Dixon-Thomas, has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for thirty-two years. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Literature & Fiction Funny Witty Cats
