Retired travel photographer Clara Whitcombe thought she was done chasing stories. After forty years behind the lens, she traded deadlines for open roads, setting off along the East Coast with her loyal companion Atlas—an eighty-pound German Shepherd–Great Pyrenees mix with an uncanny instinct for trouble. But Clara's trained eye for the telling detail and Atlas's protective instincts keep drawing them into mysteries that others overlook. From Charleston's azalea-draped streets to the windswept dunes of Assateague Island, from Hudson Valley orchards ablaze with autumn color to the salt-weathered shores of Cape Cod and beyond, murder follows wherever Clara points her camera.

Each destination brings a new community with its own secrets, a fresh cast of suspects with motives as layered as the history beneath their feet, and a killer who will do anything to keep the past buried. Clara discovers that the skills she honed capturing images—patience, observation, an instinct for the moment when truth reveals itself—serve justice as readily as art. And Atlas, with his satellite-dish ears and steady brown eyes, proves time and again that he's rarely wrong about people.

This complete collection follows Clara and Atlas through six atmospheric mysteries set against the beauty and danger of America's Eastern seaboard. Perfect for readers who love richly drawn settings, amateur sleuths who earn their answers, and dogs who steal every scene they're in. The Coastal Clues Mysteries blend historical intrigue with contemporary investigation, proving that some secrets, no matter how deeply buried, will eventually surface into the light.

The stories were just enough suspense to be interesting and the author made you want to know the main character and her dog.

Same plot over and over. Same color car, same note, same cops dialogue, dog to the rescue, etc., etc.. This appears to be AI called in. The artificial voice was the best part and that’s how bad it is. After the first two, I listened to see if it would make the third one different, nope. It’s the same story over and over. Little nuanced changes were not enough. I don’t care if it takes place in Charlotte or Kalamazoo, repeating the same basic plot over and over is just bad writing and it really sounded total AI.
