I loved reading this series after the Umbra King. Easy to follow and listen too, it is predictable unlike her newest books but I still fully enjoyed the story.

This book surprised me. It has one of the sweetest romances I've ever read. The author provides a lot of time for the reader to fall in love with these characters. A ton of this book is spent during the courtship of the MCs and it's really fun to read. Its also multiple POV with a mystery villain who also has a POV but as the reader you don't know which King it is. There was some opportunities towards the end of the book with the plot and how problems got resolved. Some of it felt rushed or not as thought out as I would've liked. But the characters are written extremely well and it does make up for some of this.
