He's all strict schedules and protein powder. I'm all buttercream and caffeine. This opposites attract collision is about to get messy.

Sadie

I’m the reliable one in Juniper Springs. Give me a bakery to run, a crisis to solve, or an influencer bride demanding an avocado wedding cake, and I’ll handle it with a smile. My friends’ new wedding venue depends on me delivering the perfect sugar high. I don't have time to sleep, let alone breathe.

But when I accidentally assault the stoic, massive ex-football player next door with a bag of flour, my carefully contained chaos starts to crumble. Ryan Cooper treats his gym like a military operation and looks at me like a problem he needs to optimize. He’s infuriatingly disciplined, terrifyingly handsome, and entirely too determined to fix my life.

Ryan

I build my entire world around measurable progress and clearly defined rules. After a spectacular coaching failure, I moved to this quiet lake town to run my gym in peace. I need predictable routines. I do not need a frantic, flour-dusted baker bursting through my doors and destroying my peace of mind.

Sadie Miller is a logistical nightmare running on pure spite and espresso. She thinks she has to carry the weight of the entire town on her shoulders. I just want to protect her from burning out. But the closer I get to her sweet, chaotic warmth, the more I realize my perfectly structured life is completely empty without her in it.

Can a disciplined coach and a fiercely independent baker find the perfect recipe for love, or will their differences force them to close up shop for good?

The Cupcake Conundrum is a dual-POV sweet cozy contemporary small town rom-com with a guaranteed happily ever after. Perfect for fans of Sarah Adams!

I will never understand how some writers can possibly consider a book a "romance" where the 2 MC's DON'T TALK TO OR INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER. FOUR chapters of Sadie and Ryan co-existing side by side in separate rooms with a WALL between them. They each spend too much time in their own heads having conversations WITH THEMSELVES ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON. How is this a romance? I thought romance was where the MC's spend time together building the relationship TOGETHER. Not living their lives being so self-involved it's bordering on narcissism. Their worlds are all about themselves surrounded by minor characters who make an appearance every now and then, have a 5 minute conversation, then disappear so the MC's can go back to their own little worlds inside their heads. This is my least kind of romance book. This is NOT a slow burn. It's barely lukewarm. For it to be a burn there would have to be some kind of interaction BETWEEN the MC's to create it. How the heck is wood going to burn if fire barely goes near it. Only reason I'm posting this review is to save anyone else from wasting their time OR money on it. Just a heads up on what to expect.

Nicely written and great use of Virtual Voice. The author cared enough about her writing to out thought behind the voices she used. My only issues were that the main characters had issues that only years of therapy would overcome.

Finally! More than one voice.
