Eighteen-year-old Katherine Ramsey travels to London with her family to make her debut into society and hopefully find her future husband. Her overbearing aunt insists that she must secure a proposal from a wealthy young man who is in line to inherit his father's title and estate. But Katherine questions her aunt's plans when she gets to know Jonathan Foster, a handsome medical student and strong Christian who is determined to protect the poor and vulnerable in London's East End. When a family scandal puts a damper on Katherine's hopes for the season, she has time to volunteer with Jonathan, caring for children in one of London's poorest areas, and romance blossoms. Katherine's faith grows, and she begins to envision a different future with Jonathan. But when Katherine's work in the East End puts her in danger, Jonathan distances himself from Katherine to protect her. A wealthy suitor reappears, and Katherine must choose which path to follow.

I enjoyed this book very much! I was quite happy to see how Katherine matured and came to know what she truly wanted as she went on "in the season." I cannot believe Sir William put up with Kate's Aunt Louisa, my goodness I wanted to choke her! I was exceedingly happy when Kate finally spoke her mind.
I first read the Kindle version of this series when it came out. I decided to listen to the Audible version and fell in love with the stories all over again.
The narration was excellent! I look forward to listening to the 3rd and final book in the series soon.

Great story of becoming who you were meant to be!

I loved the book. The characters were true to their Christian convictions. It was a sweet love story without premarital sex. And the language was appropriate. I loved everything about this book and I will recommend it to everyone. Including my 5 married daughters, and 3 daughter in laws. Thank you so much for this wonderful book. Debi

Enchanting love story

I love the fact there aren't all the sexual inferences. As Christians we need more wholesome light reading venues.

a true Christian romance

This second book of a trilogy is quite good, although it can drag a little, there was suspense and best of all, this author gives the glory to God. I'm so thankful there are still good, clean romances without foul language and uncomfortable sex scenes. You won't have to worry about young ears hearing vulgar language. If you are looking for a clean romance, this book is it!
