This story made me realize that it pays to reread these fables as an adult because they are good reminders of fundamental values and lessons we take for granted. Like this story, for instance. It truly reminds us that it still pays to be honest and true to oneself. No matter how much we try to be somebody else, our true selves will surface in the long run. So there.
