Anna has waited a long time to fall in love, and now that she has, she's not going to let her boyfriend Charlie's mother stand in her way. Meredith Granger is frighteningly well-cultured and impossible to impress. So far, Anna hasn't even been allowed to meet her. But when Charlie leaves the country on business for the summer, Anna decides to take matters into her own hands. Reinventing herself from top to toe, Anna embraces a whole new life. Garden parties, Sunday tennis, little vintage dresses from Laura Ashley - it seems almost too easy. It's only when she tails Meredith on an Art Explorers' trip to Andalucía that she wonders if things might be rather more difficult.© Louise Candlish; (P) Clipper Audio Women's Fiction Fiction Romance Genre Fiction Literary Fiction

Terrible ending.
A lot of build up only to fizzle out at the end of the story.

Terrible ending.

This book seemed to drag on and on, and only got mildly interesting (to me anyway) toward the end. I found myself pulling for the main character, but knew what would happen as it because apparent, toward the end. I think my money could have been better spent on a different title.

There are probably better books

This was a good story. I'd read this author again.

Fun read

The lack of interesting characters and a long winded story line made this one of my not so favorable listens. However I liked the way author portrayed the main character,I found it rather intriguing, and that was what kept me listening.

Not one of the better books I've had

The book probably could be written with half the words, repetitively described situations. Very British in the style of writing and settings. Not a favorite of mine.

Very "English" in its humor
